League of Legends Ruined King

Ruined King: League of Legends was announced awhile back in December 2019, giving fans and RPG players a much-awaited single-player experience.

We understand it’s been nearly two years since the initial release of the upcoming “true RPG” game. Riot Forge promised us updates, and that’s what we’ll be sharing with you today!

Although no official release date has been confirmed, all the information found below will give you a closer look at what you can expect from this League of Legends story!

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story

That’s right. It’s story-based, for those of you who don’t know yet.

Ruined King: A League of Legends story is the first single-player turn-based RPG game Riot Games will release following a narrative, immersive experience.

Players can expect constant interaction in and out of battle, along with story and adventure elements, allowing players to interact with a ton of NPCs and explore various environments.

As far as we’re concerned, Riot Games mentioned Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is single-player focused, meaning it won’t follow a co-op setting.

Riot Games aims to make Ruined King: A League of Legends Story a great way to expand the world of Runeterra [R] and is the first-ever game developed by Riot Games to come to both console and PC.

Who Developed Ruined King: League of Legends?

Both Airship Syndicate and Riot Forge will head the development of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.

Airship Syndicate is a video game developer responsible for Battle Chasers: Nightwar and Darksiders: Genesis, which was an incredible game, by the way.

Riot Forge is an in-house publishing arm of Riot Games that specifically targets completable games in the LoL world.

Riot Games’ creative collaborations with Airship Syndicate turn this turn-based RPG into a brand new experience looking to embark on a new adventure in the LoL universe.

Where is Ruined King: League of Legends Set?

Ruined King is set in Runterra’s 2 regions [R], Bilgewater and Shadow Isles.

Bilgewater, which is located in the Blue Flame Isles Archipelago, is a port city home to smugglers, serpent hunters, and dock gangs from all over the world.

Champions you may be familiar with in Bilgewater are Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, Fizz, Pyke, etc.

Shadow Isles, which was once home to an enlightened civilization, is now shrouded in Black Mist, where you’ll find restless spirits of the dead lurking around.

Champions found in Shadow Isles include Mordekaiser, Thresh, Hecarim, Elise, etc.

We’re not sure, though, how Yasuo comes into play here.

Most of the champions you’ll see in the game share a common home, Bilgewater, except for Ahri and Yasuo, so we’re also looking forward to how Riot will incorporate their origin story into the game.

Who Are the Characters in Ruined King: League of Legends?

As mentioned earlier, Ruined King is a single-player game where players can form a party of three choosing from 6 playable characters and champions in League of Legends:

• Illaoi
• Yasuo
• Braum
• Pyke
• Ahri
• Miss Fortune

Riot Games also mentioned more LoL characters would make an appearance; however, Riot hasn’t revealed much apart from that.

Since Ruined King is set to portray an immersive, narrative setting, players will meet characters along the way, which they can add to their party, so don’t expect to start with all 6!

After all, that’s what makes it exciting, thrilling, and part of the adventure!

Where Can I Play Ruined King: League of Legends?

With Ruined King available in both console and PC, you’ll be able to play the game on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

For consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One, this will be the first time Riot Games will release a game playable on these consoles.

When Is the Release Date of Ruined King: League of Legends?

The turn-based RPG, Ruined King, is set to arrive in early 2021. So far, that’s all the information Riot gave.

Not much else can be said about what lies in store for this turn-based RPG. We’re definitely looking forward to what Riot has to say in December, just months away from its release in early 2021.

Although the synopsis is still quite thin, we have high expectations from this creative collaboration, seeing as how it’s developed by Airship Syndicate and Riot Forge.

Airship’s Syndicate’s previous game releases received positive reviews from IGN, GameStar, Polygon, EGM, and Gamespace, so we’re quite confident of what Riot has to offer both in its content and game features.
